The Process

Full Landscape Design Process

I am passionate about creating beautiful outdoor spaces that harmonize visually and functionally with our environment, and provide a place where people can connect to nature and with each other.  My service area is Northern Colorado and its communities including Loveland, Ft. Collins, Windsor, Berthoud, Longmont and Johnstown.  Travel fees may apply outside of our normal service area.  Call 970-214-1524 to discuss your landscape project.

The Design Process Includes:

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION – A time to get to know each other

At this meeting we come your home to discuss your landscaping needs and ideas. We will walk the property with you and discuss fees, timelines and services available. You will have an opportunity to review a portfolio of recently designed projects. You will be asked to fill out a landscape design questionnaire and upon coming to an agreement about the services to be provided for your project, we will proceed with the following:

SITE EVALUATION Information gathering

This evaluation includes an inventory of the site for the type and condition of existing plant material, soils, and other site features including topography, structures, and important views. Photographs of the site are taken for reference throughout the project and a scaled base map is created. HOA requirements are considered before design work begins.

DESIGN WORKDevelop your personalized plan

A detailed landscape plan will be developed based on the findings from the site inventory and the client’s project goals. A conceptual design meeting will be scheduled to insure that the design is in line with your vision for the project. Pictures may be used to communicate proposed ideas.

LANDSCAPE MASTER PLAN AND PRESENTATION Our final meeting

Anne Clark Design will provide you with a detailed landscape plan that will include some of the combination of the following:

  • Layout of all planting beds
  • Planting details of all new trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses
  • Names and locations of existing trees and features relevant to the design
  • Layout of all hardscape elements including mulch and rock areas, arbors, fire pits, water features, outdoor kitchens, patios, retaining walls, fences and walkways
  • 4 copies, 2 each of the landscape masterplan and hardscape layout in plan view and drawn to scale of 1″ = 10′.  A PDF will be provided to use for HOA approval or create additional copies.
